Ocoee River Whitewater Rafting

Whitewater Rafting down the Ocoee River

Urban Explorer's Handbook

Thanks to Creative Loafing, Atlanta's oldest and #1 weekly/alternative newspaper, for featuring Hotlanta Adventures in their 2007 Annual Urban Explorer's Handbook.

Hotlanta Adventures is a younger-adult (18yo-40's) volunteer-based club that provides the opportunity to make new acquaintances and build friendships while experiencing the adventures of the great outdoors and other similar shared interest. Our main goals are fun, fitness, and friendships while learning about nature, the environment and the great outdoors.

Some of our excursions include hiking, camping, urban/mountain biking/cycling, whitewater rafting, caving/spelunking, horseback riding, canoeing, kayaking, rappelling, rock climbing, cabining, fishing, geocaching, and other outdoor activities. Other social functions may involve mixers, movie nights, cookouts, dinners, potlucks, pool parties, going to the Georgia Aquarium, ZooAtlanta, or a Braves games.

“Hitting the nation’s many trails and pathways is a great way for all Americans to have fun and, at the same time, get some valuable exercise.”

Congratulations to Hotlanta Adventures member and volunteer, Lori Scott, who won a kayak at the 5th Annual Back to the Chattahoochee River Race & Festival. We would also like to thank everyone who came by our booth at the festival.

We participate in activities that promote environmental stewardship such as clean up programs for parks, nature centers, hiking/biking trails, and/or streams/rivers along with other community outreach and service projects.

Our group started in April 2005 and we currently have over 1,500 members. Most of our members are novices to many of our outdoor activities with some being more experienced outdoor enthusiast. We welcome all experience levels who are egger to participate in our fun, fitness, and friendship activities. [more info about us]
